Construction with a positive impact: our commitment to the environment from the worksAt Salum & Wenz, we understand that being a construction company in Paraguay today not only involves erecting structures but also building a more sustainable and conscious future. In line with our policy Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), we have joined the "Recycling for Education" program, an initiative by the Dequení Foundation in partnership with Grupo Yaguareté Cartones, which allows us to channel the recycling of collected materials
in our projects towards social and educational initiatives.
During the first semester of 2025, we collected 2,020 kg of cardboard at our construction sites. This effort, which originates from the very construction sites, translated into concrete benefits for the planet:
- 28 preserved trees
- 40,400 liters of water saved
- 1,820 kg of CO₂ emissions avoided
- 4.8 m³ of space freed up in landfills
- These figures reflect how, from the construction sector, we can generate a positive environmental impact and reaffirm our commitment to conscious waste management and resource efficiency.
Why does recycling in construction matter?
Many times, the contribution of small decisions within a construction project is not fully realized. Collecting and recycling waste such as cardboard, plastic, or metal not only reduces the environmental footprint of the project but also drives a sustainable value chain that aligns with our values of responsibility and continuous improvement.
